LC3 (Limestone Calcined Clay Cement) is low carbon cement produced from the synergetic effect of clinker substitution by a combination of calcined clay and crushed limestone. This combination allows a reduction of upto 60% clinker to obtain a cement with similar properties of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and improved properties compared to Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC). Reduced clinker factor allows a substantial saving in CO2 emissions and reduces production costs with marginally increased investments.

Benefits of LC3 : Due to the lower clinker content, the LC3 technology has several advantages over Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and fly ash based Portland Pozzolana Cement (PPC). Notable amongst them are:

  2. Lower production energy than OPC
  3. Lower production cost than OPC and PPC in many scenarios
  4. Utilization of non-commercial grade raw materials
  5. Similar strengths compared to OPC and PPC
  6. Improved durability properties
